Expansion Joints: part 7, "Hammer", (and H is for Hardware)

This is my response to this week's Expansion Joints Challenge., and my entry for the letter "H" in the April A-Z Blogging Challenge

************************************************************************************

"Drunk?"
"Hammered."
"Discovered?"
"Nailed."
"Disciplined?"
"Screwed..."

Nothing but gut-wrenching silence to hammer the point home.

  1. What a language we have..! Life is full of hardware. Just need to roll with the knocks and keep the spirit level up.

  3. @Porky- Very true! I knew when I started that this might be beyond the compass of my talents, and tried hard to square my ambitions with the limits of my skills. It plumb wore me out.

@C R Ward- Thanks! Glad to see my writing didn't make you bolt at the first opportunity.

  4. You're on another plane. The rest of us down here will just have to keep chiselling away. Back to the workbench...

  5. @Porky - I hear you! Nose to the grindstone, shoulder to the wheel...the old saw is true, hard work and perseverance is what makes the difference in the long run. Pounce on any opportunity, and the ones that don't work out, just chalk up to experience.

  8. Oh, it'll be protracted, but I won't be able to wrench myself away.

  9. Just don't drive yourself nuts.

I should take my own advice here. Believe it or not, I put myself under a lot of pressure, gauge how I'm doing (and often come up lacking) by metering my output against your blog, and some of the others on your blog roll. When I start to feel the strain, relief sometimes comes when I remember your example and let go of writer's block and tackle the next thing on my list.
