Here are my responses to the March 6th, 2011 challenge:
"Stuff it!"
The general stormed out.
The taxidermist shook, eying the Emperor's still-warm corpse.
***************************************************************
Tears streaming, she stood before the smoking ruin. "All you've lost..."
The abbot shrugged. "Stuff."
***************************************************************
The stuff was incomprehensible.
"Does this mean..."
The wizard laughed. "Meaning's your domain. I do."
A tremendous trio.
ReplyDeleteThe first sparkles for the fact we're led astray, imagining the general surrendering to frustration only to find out the truth is far more serious a matter!
The second remains ambiguous. Is it only 'stuff' that's been lost? Or is it 'stuff' that's been retained, the spiritual? Or a dispirited curse? Not knowing is great.
The third is a fun twist on the concept of the wizard as learned through the semantic.
A masterclass!
